Thanks guys

most people when they see that rig ask me "why". so here's the story.
The Vette came first, 1991 Convertable, it was an insurance recovery, someone stole it and dumped it in the Willamette River, it spent some time on the bottom not sure how long. I picked it up real cheap just because it was a Vette, of course the motor and tranny (6speed) were frozen, the interior and electrical system shot, but the rearend still turned. So i got to skinnin it, without a clue to what i might become. Once down to the bare chassis, i started cleanin all the mud out (it was FULL). I drive a 83 CJ7 and one day i happened to park next to the chassis, my dad came in a bit later and said "check this out". we grabbed a couple tapes and started measuriong, the wheelbase was 1/2 off, same width. So I took up the search for another CJ. Couple months later found one in the
Nickle, all there but wouldn't run. We got it for a song, and it started, once i flipped the distributor around. The Motor came from my friends ex-wife, she was driving her 75 Nova and decided to pull into traffic without looking and took it full broadside. We had built the motor a couple years earlier and knew it was good. She only had liability insurance, so she was kinda screwed without a car. i gave her a 91 tempo for her wadded up nova (BTW she walked away from the crash without a scratch, the bench seat was shoved out the passenger door)

story cont.

So that was how my first build got it's start. Looking back after a couple scratch builds under my belt, i got real lucky. I guess every build has it tricky spots, but when you are designing and building your own chassis for a specific body or cab you can use a little forethought to cut out a lot of major issues. Trying to unite to completely different rigs was quite a chore (thank god it was my first, and i had nothing to compare it to) Long story still too long, after channeling and cutting the body's entire rear section wheelwell to wheelwell and choppin 2ft off the front and back of the frame, they came together (sorta). Keeping the project funded was no problem, all the fiberglass and bodyparts from the vetty were in really good shape, and the motor and drivetrain components from the Jeep were in demamd. The only thing I had to come out of pocket on this thing was a ring, pinion and bearings for the rear and the ZO6 wheels and tires. All in all the project was fun and rewarding (if i ever get it done) I'm happy to answer any questions, and we are still looking for a name for it. sugestions welcome.
anyway, thanks guys
