I cut an Allis Chalmers gas tank in half , rolled two tubes, made butterflys on a shaft, bolted to a base and installed a 12'' air filter.

Oh!, so thats what that is? VERY COOL INDEED! Very creative and well done. That's an awesome car you got there!

Mr. Gussett.
Very creative work. You have great ideas. I especially like the '34-like grille.

Mr. Gus, looking at your grill has given me a naughty thought;)
I'm thinking grocery carts could provide grill inserts for
homemade shells. I will deny everything.

That is so cool! Weren't you trying to sell that a while back? Are you still?

Thanks guys for the nice compliments!
Grocery carts will work well.I made mine one wire at a time.I made little narrow strips at each end with holes every 3/8" and ran the 3/16" wire throgh and tac welded them in.
rab71, yes I was going to sell it but nobody would offer a fair price to me for a "custom grill". I had several hours in it!
OH well it is looking good haning on my shop wall!I play the "guess what year that grill is" game with alot of people.

I love the brake pedel [simple but awsome idea]!
Bet you wont be seeing that on a so called traditional rod, thats why i love rat rods ,its all about just havin some fun ,and look what comes from it ,fare out cool ideas that would'nt been thought of if you were going traditional.
Cant wait to see you finish that one ,gonna be awsome !

I am pretty fortunate...

I have the cosmic fortune of living just over the hill from this creative cat. I plan on hangin' out at his shop as much as possible, and working on my own little projects and just enjoyin' life. Great work Mr. Gussett!!
