How many of us had tin foil hanging on the rabbit ears to get better reception ? Later on, we got a rototenna that was mounted on the roof and it would rotate via the controller on top of the tv to dial in better reception. Now, that was high tech !!

Ours broke so I would have to go out and turn the antenna while someone else hollered at you when it got clear.lol We had two channels.
Being raised in the country I got to experience most of the things mentioned without being as old you geezers. :D [cl

Ok....is there a reason you want all us old timers

To be depressed???? No not really....I remember when we moved to Michigan from Pittsburg...we didn't have a TV at all...listened to the Radio....lol...When we got one it was a 13" Muntz with a housing that was as big as a dresser....LOL...
I can remember all of the that stuff....our phone number started with PR...for Prescot....think it was PR-5 4778.....and it was a party line...had to pick it up and listen to make sure someone else wasn't on the line....wow...
Lost memories that crop up when this stuff gets put out....some great...some not so great....
Anyone remember Ipana Toothpaste? I nearly tear up every time I see the Lone Ranger....he was my hero....also...Mr. Wizard....I tried about everything he did on the show...How about those baking soda submarines?? I could go on and on....but I'll shut up...lol..:D

Guess I'm still high-tech around here. On broadcast TV and when they did the all digital switch a while back, I had to get another TV....my antenna is still a piece of coax strung out across the balcony and you got it...tied to an old coat hanger with tin foil....high-tech redneck :D

One of my very early memories (I must have been only about 3 or so) was when we got our first TV. I remember sitting eating and watching my Mom ironing and she was glued to the tv screen. My Dad came home and chewed her out because dinner was late because she was so engrossed in that **** tv ! :D

TV changed a lot of peoples lives back then, we had never seen anything like it before.
