Just got a call.

My Son Dan just called me. He took his rpu to work this morning, I guess it was take your hotrod to work day or something. Anyway, he went to lunch and a Sheriffs car pulled up behind him at a light and blew the horn. When he looked in the mirror the cop gave him the thumbs up.

We was scared to death to pull out because it is sort of loud........ok, it is REALLY loud, and the cop stayed right behind him and followed him into the restaurant. Turns out the Sheriff is a car nut and has an old Charger and a few other cars and just wanted to talk cars with him.

Dan was still nervous when he called me but was surprised the cop was so cool about it. I guess its what we have all found out from the members on here that are in law enforcement or were in law enforcement, a lot of them are pretty cool guys and will leave you alone if you are not acting like an idiot.

that's funny he must of had that oh **** feeling even after he found out the five0 was cool.
even being 46 and not doing anything wrong I still get that feeling from them.

It's really just like any other job Don. Some people are jerks and some are not at all. It's just that when a cop is a jerk, no good can come from it and everyone hears about it. More importantly, it sure is nice to see Dan back on the road. Tell him to get that RPU good and dirty, and scratch it up a little, so I won't be as embarrassed to park near him at BP.

Me and 3 other coppers here dig cars....one has a 70 superbee, one has a 67 mustang convert and one has a 58 chevy impala....we all talk cars, and anything auto.....they both want me to finish the Thing.....cops are people too....just have a job that usually isn't the most popular....good and bad in every profession...no different in LE...
