It's up to you as a computer owner to check and see if your computer is infected, and go to this government run web page to fix the problem: www.dns-ok.us

When you type in that address, it takes you to a government page, and if the logo is green, your computer is ok and not infected. It will be red if you have the virus, and the site should take you through steps to fix the problem.

Did this test and mine is fine, my sons went red.

I saw the same article on the news tonight and it is a pretty big deal. If you are infected and don't correct it by Monday the Govt is shutting down the computer they have been using to redirect this thing and you may not be able to log onto the internet.

I went to that site and checked mine, it came up OK. :D

I'll take my chances. The govenrment monitors us enough as is. What better threat to everyone than "oh you're going to lose your internet"?

Thanks for looking out but once again... I'll pass.

One way or the other the criminal gov't will completely control the internet. They want to know who
is looking at youtube videos that expose them or anything else involving "national security".

I am sure they have you as soon as you go to the site regardless of which color you see. Like the gov't pushing everyone to get HDTV. Why?

I have it from good sources that this site was in fact

Developed by the FBI...... Not really a virus – malware – it can peak into your computer and cause it to do strange things.. but many of the antivirus software has anti malware built into them. Our business Norton Symantec has it built in. I am leary of anything like this from the government.....the government seems to "invent" a lot of crap to make us stay in fear of living....now we must "FEAR THE INTERNET" or lack of it unless we subject our computer to a scan by the FBI??? Wow...

Unless they shut down my ISP I figure Ill be good.Im with B.E.D, No thanks.Ive found 95%of the sites that are supposed to help usually cause ten times more problems than the original problem.

That is the truth my brother....!!

I'd go with a kill disc and complete reload of software before I'd use the internet to fix my puter...:D

Ok I just spent an hour in IT geek he11

I like my computer guy but holy $%^^. Because he lives not to far from me and because I got him in with the company I worked for (lots of repairs, the office would crash one to two a week), He called and said he would come by and hook me up and would only take a couple minutes (an hour, loves to talk). In a nut shell just changed the ip redirect something or other [S and told my kid to quit going to the cheap sites and buying music. Double checked mine, no prob's, I don't go to the crap sites so chances are I never hit one of the servers that got replaced (and the replacements are going to be shut down on the 9th).

Then I entered it he11. Got the whole thing about how I need to get a laptop to store all my info on that I don't want anyone else to see. Get one without wireless, get two batteries, charge the batteries out of the laptop (never plug the laptop into the outlet), never conect it to the internet, never transfer data to it (enter it manualy). And only a fool would think that the gov doesn't controll the web.

From what I got was the link checks to make sure you are not directing through one of the servers that is going to be shut down. But then again I started looking around for the secret police to jump me anytime, so I might have missed half of what he was saying

Guys, if you think the Govt would need to have you log onto a particular site just to spy on you, think again. Anytime we click on anything we are exposing our entire lives. Just google your name and you will find out what I mean.

This particular virus was aimed at mainly businesses because the perps wanted people to go to one site and then be redirected to a phony site so they could steal their customers info and credit card info. Only about 70,000 people in the US are affected but something like millions are affected worldwide.
