how dutch can it get..?

Close to my home a 1734 windmill burned to the ground in 1959. By then the mill already was in bad shape, but still...

In 2010 plans were made to rebuild it on the same location and last winter the concrete foundation was poured. By now it actually starts to look like something.
Just thought it is a cool project to share.... :)

I am from Dutch ancestry, but my people (Mennonites) left there in the 1600's already (due to religious persecution), settling in the Danzig area of Prussia, which is now part of Poland. There are also surviving windmills there, as they settled in a swampy flood plain, developing it into farm land.

I live on the dry sand grounds on the east side of the country. We don`t need the pump mills here. This particular one is a flour mill.
