I was looking forward to being able to see it at the Supernationals in Albuquerque that started today but it wasn't there. It was on the poster is the only reason I went really.

I took a few pictures but all that high dollar shiney paint just doesn't trip my switch much. I'll post a few pics that did interest me.

There was a '45 chevy truck that was a work in progress that was kool. I got to talking to the guy building it and forgot to take any pics of it. He had added 8'' to the cab to fit his customers large size. Really nice build.

That's strange, they posted photos of the Airplane engined truck at the Supernationals on their Facebook page. That's where these two photos are from, apparently.

Well that makes me feel rather silly....
obviously I missed a whole building full of cars including the truck I went there to see. All I can say is dang.

I pulled up the map of the show and I missed building E.
I guess I should have looked at the map that was posted by the
door of the main entrance. DUH!!!!

That's too bad pops, hopefully you get to see it another time!

Wow lots of work, but it just doesn't do it for me.

Definitely not a daily driver. I just like the bare metal look.
I wish my old trucks sheet metal was good enough to pull that off.

Yeah, lots of work into it. I saw a side profile and I just feel like the proportions are off (bed too short). What loses it for me is I don't think it's something you could really drive, probably mostly a show truck. I wonder how they hook the airplane engine to the rest of the drivetrain?

It's a '55 Chevy......

Fastback? Almost looks like they used a 50 or so fastback rear roof on this '55.

From the 2016 NM Super Nationals

Thanks dmw56. Now I don't feel left out by not getting to see that truck.
I think the main thing I like about it is the bare metal finish.
Lots of engineering to put it together with the air plane engine and I can appreciate that for sure.

Testing Doc's photo procedure.

Big Brother's new toy, it's a bucket list thing. He ran a AA/G in the mid 60's and wanted to do it again before.
Built the engine, sbc, blown, on alcohol, bought the car and made it it fit his old larger body. (crazy old man) so far mph-170 - 7.2 sec

Wow! A FED in the family. You better get your competition license. If I won the lottery I'd roll an injected nitro small block Junior Fueler into a ball at the end of some drag strip.

Ohhh, you touched a nerve there.

I believe every millionaire needs a "team car". (You know, for match races, simultaneous burnouts and everybody knows a rolled ball belongs to a pair.) It comes with a rookie driver (available for legal adoption) and piddling little else. :D
