He probably sets it up different, maybe a big sleeper and a fancy dump box or a flat bed something along those lines. Just this time he is hauling his camper, the 5th wheel has to be back that far because of the short over hang on the camper.

I have seen a lot of trucks that are set up like that, likewise I have many of trucker friends. They claim that trucks are set up like that for looks. To that I promptly reply that is stupid because it looks retarded like that.... Seems to me that it could also cause driveline issues because of how much chassis flex a big rig has.

Not following you here... the point of interference is still the fender to the camper... The length in front of the 5th wheel hook up doesn't really matter does it? I mean other than making turns REALLY difficult....

Short trucks ride like crap, especially with leaf spring suspension and no weight on the truck to settle the suspension.

I'm sure it probably is, or that is one of those $1000 mock up motors on a go kart! One of them zinger cars maybe.... either way, if I could fit it I would drive it.
