I plan to bring this home in the fall. Not sure what direction to go with it. Ya dont see many leatherbacks, and when you do they usually have had the top cut off, or replaced with steel.

Im thinking chopped leatherback roof, channel, possible section, steelies with WWWs, and either a different/rare V8, or a good stovebolt. suicide axle, and different grill. No fenders........maybe fenders......hmmm.....

How bout some pics for inspiration?

Everything sounds good except in my opinion I think you should retain the use of the original grill. Its made for it, you'll already have it so why use anything else??? I think it would take away from it if you used another one.

I have a 28 Leatherback in the garage in really good shape, with a Winters quick change and a 46 flat head next to it. I should be starting on it in the next month or two. I've been looking for some "inspiration" also but you don't see to many leather backs, especially cut up ones.

I gotta say that i am really suprised a few people here havent overloaded this thread with pictures yet. What a bunch of slackers! jeeeesh.

Someone out there has to have one of these things hot rodded out.

Now im thinking rusty ol' body w/ white leather top. How about some surplus Olive Drab canvas? I have a source for some suprlus Humvee seats. Maybe some military willys rims? Perhaps some artilary wheels?

Hillbilly.
Dude... that car is a piece of rusted junk... I LOVE it!!! I'd keep the orig grill & would sell the fenders although not sure I'd chop it! That's gonna make an awesome rod u lucky dog!!! Sorry... I don't have any pictures either!
