We probably all have a few. I've saved up maybe 50 or so over the years. Some junk and a few cool ones. I have recently started a collection of the 53 (year I was born) Wheaties mini plates. I'm going to do a border in my kitchen/computer nook with them. Some of my favorites are the Yukon and Nunavit bear shaped ones. I am looking for one of the old Arizona copper ones in good shape (that I can afford) I really like the Wyoming cowboy plates and have a few old Montana, Nebraska, New York and just an eclectic mix.

I have a few but I haven't taken any photos of them. I'll get to it and post up after Thanksgiving. I like old license plates and plate toppers also, but I don't have any of those.

I just found out from a buddy of mine who went to the Mechum Auction, a collection of old license plates went for a million bucks (yikes!). I hope he was pulling my leg.........

I collect popular 20's-50's & especially tri-5's. I love mint never registered plates & bought a bunch a while back when a guy was ditching his collection!

I was looking on ebay and see some single plates that bring $2500 each.
I know a guy who probably has the biggest collection in the country, probably the world. He has plates that only one or two are known to exist like the first year of S.D. motorcycle that were leather. He went to every county seat for the last 40 years and cleaned them out every year, even went to the prison and got a truckload they were going to pitch, mint sets back into the 20s. He has over a million plates and the only complete S.D. set known to exist plus a second set only missing 2-3.
I have about 100 and maybe half of them nice. I have all of S.D. from 1919 to 37 and working from there up. I have also started restoring a few. Some of them were pretty trashed and are not going to fool anyone but I have a couple you couldn't tell without a magnifying glass.
I am also collecting unusual plates. I have 2 of the Northwest Territorys bear shaped plates and one Nunavit, one newer Arizona copper plated plate, a wartime composite plate from Illinois.
Here are a few pics.
Here's a few I've "restored"

I get a lot of mine from ebay, no 29 OK listed right now but a couple nice 28s for $39.95 each. That's a little high for Oklahoma. I got my 20 through 26 SD plates for $15 each from an ebay seller.
