Look what I found in the woods....

While hunting last week I found what I think is a '34 Hudson sedan abandoned in the woods. 4 suicide doors. Kinda cool.

It is 22 miles up a 4x4 trail and 34 miles from the nearest established road.

I can't believe the condition it is in. It is out of sight from the trail so not many people could have seen it.
My next mission is to get it out and take it home. I think I can get a tonque pull trailer in there and with the receiver hitch on the front of my jeep I can winch it up the ramps.

It would be interesting to know the back story on this. There is what looks to be an old logging operation in the area but that's all I know.

We looked around quite a bit that day. It appears to be an old logging sight.We found the right front fender mangled and in a pile of burnt trash and other auto parts. It would be interesting to know.

Thanks Kenny. The deer was the reason we were there and the old Hudson was a bonus. I don't know how long it's been there but there is a good 10" of dirt washed down against the frame on the drivers side. Things don't grow out here in the high desert like other regions.

Yeah there's not alot of old Hudsons around. It may have Ford fenders and a home built hood on it. I saw a front grill on ebay for $1495.00.

The silver one is a Plymouth and the red one is a Ford. I think.

In the fender shots the last picture is a John Deere 'D' unstyled fender, probably from the thirties. Here is a picture of a 1927 'D' fender. It has wider ribs in the curved part than yours.

its amazing what some guys can spot.. cant image those fenders are too easy to come by

I will bring all that old stuff home, you never know when you might need a John Dleere fender from the thirties. I'll probably spend some time with a pick and shovel to see what this is. It's more than 1/2 buried . I've got a feeling there is alot buried there that I can't see and it's driveing my curiousity crazy.
