stop signs and other road signs can be had at your local scrap yard
Here in Arkansan when a sign has gotten old they sell them for scrap
Before they sell the they write on the back a release number
Any time I buy one I take a picture of It at the yard with a bill of sell and time stamp the photo with my camera

I bought stacks of old signs at an auction, the coolest one was a "55" speed limit sign that had been bolted over a "70". I have the bill of sale but these signs look pretty old. I think I will be okay.
