I was at a car museum a while back that was FULL of old caddys, Franklins, Nashs, Packards, and even a couple Deuzenburgs none newer than 1931. For some reason they all looked huge to me. Were these "luxury cars" larger than say....model a sedans?

WAY larger. Those marques represented status, which was reflected in size. The Ford was a "working man's" car, even by early standards. They were built cheaply for people on a budget. The ritzier marques represented wealth and power, and that translated into excess - power, looks, and size.

Not so much different today really - Look at a Cadillac Escalade parked next to a Ford Focus....

Norwich Classic Car Museum

hillbilly - that wouldn't be the Norwich, NY Classic Car Museum, would it? I've also been there - awesome collection of cars and historical information. I especially liked the map of NY State with all the car builders that came and went during the first half of the Twentieth Century. The year I went, they had a special exhibit of one of each make car from the year 1956. Way cool!

I recommend this museum to anybody that can get there!

P.S. Did you notice the 1918 Cadillac with the "FAT MAN" steering wheel, which was the FIRST tilt wheel?
