My Father passed March 15. He was in Japan during WWII. Like your dad, he never talked about it either. They truly were the greatest generation and there are not many more left.

both of my grandfathers where in wwII and are buried there. i just can't remember the name of the place, and i need to go by there on one of my trips home. and i don't belive most of them ever talked much, i got a couple of story's but that was about it.

Still crazy after all these years!
When "TAPS" was played before the Indy 500 it affected me deeply. I am humbled and grateful for the sacrifice made by hundreds of thousande of American servicemen and women, who gave their lives for our country.

when i was in the navy we heard taps on base everynight when they lowered the colors, it didn't mean much to me then, but when i started losing some of the people in my life taps got awhole new meaning to me, now when i hear taps it is heard to keep a dry eye.

1 uncle dad's side Korea
dad served 63-65 in panama canal zone

This is a rough day for me. To fight and have brother fall along side you is something a human is not cut out to see.
Yes we are quiet ..
There is a saying of mine on my garage wall that may some it up.
