Almost everybody with a merc has a chopped one

It looks good stock. it probably would only look funny on ya unchopped if you were short.
I'd go for restoring it just like it is and instead of custom how about something like you'd see in Super Rod? center drive Nascar suspension and a v10 with an overdrive out of a van or a truck.
If you lengthen the wheel openings and run 20's and lower it... it's going to look the similar proportionally as if you were running 15's with a mild chop....maybe better.
How many nice ones do you see unchopped? how many other makes were chopped to make them look like a stock merc?

I really don't mind fordors especially with suicide doors. I've got 2 fordors now. I also can get a 49 Chevy Deluxe fordor. I just won't pay tudor prices for them. The Merc also doesn't have a title and is an estate sale. So things might get complicated.

Even as a 4 handle those look good. The no title, estate sale thing would be a deal killer for me.

Good luck if you decide to pursue the issue.

If it's going to be in a sale, cheap is in the realm of possibilities... but most of the time now thanks to all the stupid reality shows (storage wars, pickers, etc...) everyone thinks the stuff is worth gold and will force people to pay beyond top dollar for things...

Yep....I believe that barrett jackson started the major escalation of prices. Now everyone thinks their vehicle, no matter how long its been sitting outside even with trees growing out of it, is worth a gold mine.
