B brownbagg Member Joined Dec 15, 2007 Messages 22 Apr 24, 2010 #21 a pinion being offset is no big deal. A lot of axles are this way. Alot of dana 44 are this way. It doesnt mean that its a 4x4 axle. i would use the 8.8 being offset without even thinking about it.
