About 30 minutes from me there are Model T races held annually. They race them on a 1/2 mile dirt oval flat track. Many of the stripped-down T's that race have been race cars since the 1940's. It's a fun vintage day and there's a car show along with it. There were a ton of cars there today, I only took a few shots but here they are.

There were also vintage flat-track bikes racing in between the T races but I forgot to snag photos.

First, two of the T racers. Next up, a 28-29 Model A roadster pickup with the body made totally of strips of cherry wood. It's on a original A frame. It's an incredible piece of craftsmanship. Then just some other stuff I thought was cool.

Is that truck made of wood? Or painted to look like wood? It's cool as hell. Any more pictures of that?

The truck is made of 4,000 strips of cherry wood. There is zero metal in any of the body (except hinges, etc). Even the corners where the upper bed sides turn are jointed in wood. It's a totally wooden Model A body on an original frame. He has 2,500 hours into it.

looks like a great day out !!!
think the Olds, and Apache did it for me those torn down Ts look like buckets of fun - that wooden A sure is a cool piece too !!

Thanks [cl

I've seen 3 or 4 completely wooden bodied cars. Super human skills involved by my measure. Those T speedsters SF posted restart every time with one turn of the crank! Got me fired up again for a speedster on the street. [;)
