Lakota, good tip on moving light stuff yourself. We did just that when we moved last month. Dan said to let the movers do it all, but I am home all day, and moved all the small stuff myself. We were paying $ 85.00 an hour, so it saved lots of time (and the two guys they sent over were not exactly "speedy."

Speaking of cats and moves, there was just a story on the news about a family that moved from Hawaii (I think) to someplace like Texas, and they packed a container. Their cat disappeared, and 18 days later when the unpacked the container the cat comes strolling out !!:D I guess it is fine. :D

They should name that cat Lucky, like we did on the kitten my Son rescued last month. He found it under a car in front of him at a redlight, and climbed under and pulled it out of the inside of the wheel. One light change and the poor little kitten would have been killed. (We ended up adopting him, and the name Lucky was just very fitting) :D

Besides, how could you refuse a face like this? :D:D:D The other two cats think he is their kitten, I think. :D

Cat story:
I packed a family in Topeka. The whole time their little eight year old girl kept asking me if I had seen her cat. I gave her one of the North American teddy bears, (moving is traumatic for kids). I arrived in California on monday to unload, and opened the back doors. The cat came staggering out screaming "F*****G MEOW". It had been locked in the van, in the dark, all weekend, being bounced around as I drove. We had a hard time convincing the little girl that I did not make her cat magically appear at the new house. I still get Christmas and birthday cards from them.

That is so sweet, I bet the little girl was just at awe with you. "The magic moving man", I bet that is something she will never forget! The cards are probably a way for the parents to send their thanks for ending a horrible long weekend with a very upset little girl. That is a great story!

Lite @ the end of da tunnel!!!

Well I am definitely seein' lite @ the end of da tunnel here! Nearly finished unpacking & getting ready for the big party Sat nite. I will really be excite to get back to workin' on my truck cab. Raining *every* dang day here for nearly a whole month but clear a few days while I was moving but back to the monsoon now! Beautiful in the morning & rains every afternoon. Only good part is that the temp is *well* below our typical blazin' hot June, July, August!

Well at least it ain't as hot as normal...

*BEWARE* The light at the end of the tunnel is really the headlight of an on comming train..

I can't believe you are settled in enough to have a party already. I'd still be living out of boxes piled to the ceiling if it were me.

Oh, and could you send some of that "not as hot as usual" weather down my way please.

Dude, my wife is an animal & has about killed me pushin' to get ready for this gig! I usually have boxes left over from my last move but... not this time!!!

Oh, and could you send some of that "not as hot as usual" weather down my way please.

Believe me... I'd b glad to!!! It rained all nite & still is right now... anyone out there into "rat boats"? I mite need u're help *real* soon!!!

We need all that rain, the drought we are having right now hasn't been this bad for a very very long time, the temps are terrible and the humidity has been in the 90's. We are getting the 'pop up showers' every once in a while but not nearly enough to help out! Just enough to make it even more muggy out, steam rollin' off houses and roads. It's so bad that some communities around here are watering the trees that the Forestry planted in the winter, just to keep them from dying. Send all of the rain our way! Please!

Tripper:
Please make sure u're boat motor is functioning properly!!! ; -

Ready and waiting! ;)

Just think....after the party you can actually relax because all of the moving and unpacking will be done. It's good to go ahead and get it over with as quick as you can! :)
