What an awesome looking truck. I really like the front end, the headlight placement is perfect, the bed proportions are right on, I really like a bed 38-40" with the wheels centered. The only thing I might change for my personal taste is the back of the cab, I wuld have taken it down to the beltline and had that extra several inches be part of the removable top.
Hey Guys its been 5 weeks from my last post. been busy. here are some pic's lots of bondo and paint. the frame is covered with bedliner then painted I like the ruff look to the finish. the inside of the cab also is bedlined , floor, door panels, and back. on the floor will be carpet but the center will not be covered.
the next bunch of pic's the flames are taped off on the floor. the doors, hood under side, gas tank cover and inside of pickup bed get the bedliner treatment. the body get's a coat of Hot Rod Satin and the belt line get's painted red,
and on....... the finished project will be pinstriped with flames on the grill, hood and body sides. dbl lines one red one white. my body work is not perfect but under the conditions building it in my grarge and haveing to park my truck in it every night I think it's OK We got some bad new's a couple of week's ago my 35yr old Daughter has Breast Cancer. Cancer has Dog'ed my family for 3 generations. her name is Karri, any of you that say your prayers might remember her also. and I'ed thank you. monday she gets put back togather, hope to be driveing soon. I'll post in a couple of weeks ses U Doug
I really admire your creative ideas. You won't see any others like yours, until people start copying it. We're sending best wishes your daughter's way.
Well it's been a little while from my last post, between my daughters Cancer and my own health problems havent been able to get much work done. installed the front end, came out right at the ride hight I wanted a lot of measure and more measure and some luck. the body was next it worked out good too. real close fit with my bellhousing and firewall, looks good too.
next came the pipes and brake lines. what a job trying to install all ready made lines (didn't want to buy a dbl tubeing flaring tool) if you bought all the special tools you need to build a rod it'ed cost $100.'s of bucks. the steering was next. yesterday I fabed the pitman arm and hooked up the drag link. the seat base is cutout and installed. Iam useing a a plan I took off Killbillit web site. I will cut out areas in the seats and install webbing then foam and cover it. I also finished the doors (forgot to take a picture) installing the door handels and the alum insert.Ill post more later Doug
