Silver Lake Dunes has all the badass toys lined up for miles just waiting to get in.

One of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen was taking the back roads out of Muskeegan up to Pentwater on my FXR and watching that dune just rise out of nowhere surrounded by water

Not the one I'm looking for but here's a cool rear engine truck

Another cool one

This is what I remember as a young teen at the drag strip. A local guy owned both of these at one time

I am not a threadstealer....:p A quick note Charley, that is one of our favorite Sunday rides on our bikes, it's just North of us. You need to get up here for Bike Time...........Power Tour will be here in Muskegon, again this year as well.

Just the other day I was eyeing up an early 80's Eldorado at Pick n Pull with something like this in mind. Good find Dr. C ! I think the 79 to 85 ish Eldorado, Toronado, and Rivieras are a little narrower than the 60's - 70's Eldorado and Toronado. These pics show the necessary change to coilovers since they originally had long torsion bars that would have stuck out the back. Avoid the 80's Caddy with the junk 4.1 V8. If you are injection and computer friendly, the newer Caddys and Olds with the FWD Northstar V8 is another possibilty.

Right you are, ZZ. The '79 models of all three makes are almost 10'' narrower than the previous generation. All three used the big block Olds 350 in '79 and '80. (Those are the ones to find, in my opinion). In '81 the Olds and Buick went to the 307 (turd), and Cadillac the 4.1 (larger turd). The wild card is the 368 Caddy, also used in '79 and '80 Cadillacs. That's the 4-6-8 engine, a downsized 425. Despite their reputation they are excellent engines. One wire unplugs the stupid variable displacement system, and you get full power.

Lots of info about the 325/4L trans. Look toward the bottom of the page to see how to get more engine weight ahead of the axle:

I just bought a running '93 Seville STS for $450 to donate the entire power package into the back seat of my Ford '26 Tudor. The STS has 295hp stock and can be bumped up a bit by adapting a later caddy blower. It has the 4t80e trans axle with 3.71 gears.

Kudos Dr C, on great info once again, and totally agree about the good, bad, and the turds.
Cool vids, busteddrum, and good luck on that build.

I'm not sure if you have the room for the length of it but there used to be a kit that allowed you to mount a v8 in place of the back seat of a Corvair,if you would rather have a 4 speed.
