Well one side will be easy

First side did not go to well, I was trying to keep the factory seam. Did some cutting and just could not get things to line up. So I'm just going to weld everything and made it look like one piece.

"yep Gold it pays a couple now."

That is so cool![cl it's kinda my dream job, but will have to wait till I retire. I need to keep practicing. [;)

Do you go on any metal shapers forums?

"Do you go on any metal shapers forums?"

No not really. Every once in a while I will Google something and check things out. More so stuff about working with a English wheel because I have no clue about working with one, and I often think about getting one of the HF ones just to mess around on.

That's what I did. Bought a cheep Princess Auto English wheel. So far I have spent more time working on the machine than using the tool. [S

The rollers are OK, but it was real flexible. Added on some more steel tubing. Rebuilt and simplified the adjuster. It works better now.

With your welder you can build one better than you can buy at HF. With some steel slugs, a drill press and side grinder you can make the rollers. Look for some heavy steel plate to build a frame.

Have a look at the Shrinker stretchers.

I may be a little low

Here is the plan. This will get bagged so the idea is to set everything off the bump stops so if a bag does blow the truck will stop a 1 1/2" off the ground. With the bags all the way up should ride at 7 1/2" or so off the ground and should have a nice 4" cruising clearance. Of course there is the front bags down and backs up for the rodder look. Even with the tires that are on there now there is still a inch of clearance above the tire.

S-10 frame all trimmed up, made my plywood jig-o-matic and the frame started.

Got in all squared up leveled and some welding. Switched over to the other welder for the frame, that .35 flux core melts thing together in a hurry.

Not be be a downer, but you might want to air that tire down too no?
That would be your scrub area with a tire down, but I guess having both go at the same time would be pretty unlikely :D:D

Thanks guys. Mocked it back up with the cab and front fender and had the owner over to take a look and here is where it is at. Everything is going down 3/4". Now every thing is set so now I can get to the back half. If this blows a bag and tire at the same time

Lookin' very good, Mike. You should have a happy customer when your done.

Thanks Bob, Yep he is happy.

Not the fanciest frame, looks more like a work bench with that 2"x4"x3/16" frame. I'm within a 1/16th all the way around, not to bad for not being done on a frame jig.

Set the cab back on the frame, lining things up to go back on. The plan is gasser headers with lake caps, found a bonus spot to run pipes to the back for street driving.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH boy!!!!!

Running out of room. Spent three days moving stuff around to make room for a 3'x7' welding table (outside). little progress on the 38, but running boards are done and the bed is almost back on. Had 1 more show up today, wood removal replace with 1" sq tub and 4" chop. and I still have to squeeze two more truck in. May have to do some shop hunting soon.
