I have a 1970 buick electra 350-4 that I am playing with. I paid zero dollars for this car, it has been in around the family for awhile sitting. I am hoping to go rat rod with this because I really like the style and I want to keep it basic.

You have 2 options. I like what rain man said. you can may be block the rear axle a couple of inches get some fender skirts and some WWW's Paint and scallop it make give it a tail dragger look.

Or

You can clean up the body, paint it lime green or gold, jack it up, scour craiigs list for some 24's and a sterio to put under it, and put a for sale sign on it and sell it to one of the "urban kids" at the nice profit and buy you something else.

Remember,
It's all up to you, and what you want.

Good luck with it.

Man, I wish someone in my family had something like that sitting around at that price . Great score. How 'bout an ugly green with an even uglier green vinyl top ?

Oh yeah! Great car to sled. Lower it, shave the handles, black out the grille and headlight buckets, and shoot it with a de-glossed metallic paint about the same color that's already on it. Simple scallops would be good. Or leave the paint as is and accent pinstripe. Skirts would kick too. Not sure the wide whites would look that good unless you ran wires or something - that would look pimp-mobile though. How about black (or white) steel rims with bullet chrome center caps? Shave the side turn lights/markers too.

If you ground the outside of those thin whites and made them a little wider, that might look real good, but like I said, full on wide whites would probably look too pimp-mobile.

Make full fender skirts for the rear wheel openings. Bag it. De-chrome the front and rear bumpers. Paint the car a dark color with a lot of pearl in it....maybe dark blue. and bolt on some big smoothies like I have on my truck.

If the car was lowered hard and the fender skirts were big enough, you could get away with just running new front wheels...the rears will be completely hidden.

shave it and flake it.....the rest i'll leave up to you....

you could always slip a set of 13" daytons on it and a set of hydraulics and "hop" around town:D:D:eek::eek:

just havin a little fun, no offfence intended.....

yeah so many options, I am really leaning in favor of blacking it out or a dark color. I think that whole idea with the rear skirts would actually be kick. And no way on the 13inch wires haha funny though! I like the shaved idea but I really never had experience with that so I dont know how tough that would be, I know they are not to expensive though...hmmmm
