Thought you guys might get a kick out of how I choose my shop music. I've been going through all my (and my wifes) music, about 9000 songs to date, and making a play list of what I want to hear when I'm working in the shop.

The playlist criteria: Anything that would sound good at Wide Open Throttle!

I am in the shop all the time, and the music is going all the time. I really listen to a lot of different stuff. It depends on my mood, or sets it.

Lol I can agree with that... I used to be pretty well rounded on music but most of the stuff I listen to is rock related, metal, death metal, industrial... But occassionally, I like classical...

I like industrial music... Somethin bout sounds like grinders, or welders or electric sparkin in a song gets me goin...

Jesus Built My Hot Rod(remix).Ministry is probably my favorite gearjammin' song. At least top 5.

Our collection is a wide mix of it all, just not too much country, rap, mo-town, or pop. A little Hank Williams, Jay-Z, or Everlast never hurts. Otherwise it all goes, from classical, death metal, blues, punk, indie, or just plane ol' Rock 'N Roll.

But my shop playlist is gonna be strictly music that makes me want to Go Dog Go!

It all depends in our shop who gets to the shop stereo first. I like stuff like AC/DC, Seager, Steely Dan, etc. Dan likes Metallica and that kind of music, and Don is stuck in the '50's with old time Rock and Roll. Sometimes Dan and I get burned out on loud music so we put on soft jazz, but Don makes fun of us.:D:D

I used to have a 5 disc changer in the shop.Pop in some Pink Floyd,Zepplin,AC/DC,Stones,Animals,and put it on shuffle mode and turn volumn to 11."Its one louder";)

Dont know about shop music, but i do know when i want to drive fast or when im about to do some good offroading, i jam to Guns and Roses. Welcome to the Jungle, and Mr. Brownstone are my favorite go fast songs. But any oldies rock is good for me, but GnR is my go fast music.

Right now the garage CD player has: The Black Keys, John Prine, Leningrad Cowboys and a Mad Fabricators Society Psychobilly collection. Next week it could be Nick Cave, Morphine, Neil Young, Frank Zappa & Leonard Cohen. I'm not a mentally well man.

I carry around a little Sony Walkman that holds close to 400 songs and I just plug it into my truck or shed stereo or whatever, I can listen to it almost all day long everyday for 4/5 days till it goes dead... I gota lot of Mushroomhead, Xotox, Hanzel und Gretyl, Nine Inch Nails, and Terrorfakt on there right now... I'm not above of goin into an 80s stage and listening to nothin but 80s for a while... I get burnt out really easy... Mushroomhead has been my fav for a month or so now, next month it'll be somethin different...

Someone said somethin bout "goin fast music." I like Superstar by Saliva for goin fast...

Can't forget a little "Chrome" by VNV Nation

How 'bout a lil Steppenwolf!?! Like... Git u're motor runnin'... head out on tha highway... lookin' for adventure!!!

BoB

When i wanted to clear the rednecks out of our favorite cafe i would put
"monster" on the jukebox. :D When John Kay, a Canadian sang about the
US government "now it's a monster and it CANNOT be controlled" he hit the mark.
