no oil pressure

started my work truck this morn, 30* out, oil pressure didnt come up, usually 60lbs when its cold. I have a lt1 383 1 pc rear main seal, I pulled the pump, was filled with silicone from the pan gasket seal, disassambled the pump and thourly cleaned it out, checked the spring and piston 4 free movement. pump works good on the bench. I nstalled it and fired up the motor, no pressure yet, think I may have pushed a plug outta front in the cold weather?

I've had to put grease in the pump gears to get them to prime, at times. Some will, some won't. I WISH it was 30 degrees here. It won't get above zero today.

Fram filter ? People have been having trouble with them.

60lbs at idle is a LOT.
Sounds like a high volume pump ?
What oil are you running ?

yup HV pump 60 cold 40 hot, just got a filter, gonna change it out now, just heard that sometimes the front galley plugs pop out in cold weather with high pressure

What brand of filter did ya have? I've had filters in the past do the simular thing.It was on my stock car engine,something in the bypass didn't work right.I had oil press. but just not very much. Glad ya got your problem figured out. Nothin more sick feelin than a motor w/ no oil press.

check valve was by passed and it was a fram filter

Well guess you got it fixed and didn't spin a bearing?
I am a week out on this one for helping you, only info I could lend is not to try to get it all going at once.

Usually if you have a oil pressure problem, it is good to have one of those priming tools you would hook to your drill so you can check the oil flow. This is a good practice to get into before you spin a bearing and toss your engine.
There are simple tricks to checking the oil flow once you have cleaned out your pump. Just a couple nickles to rub over instead sinking the ship.
