Is it just my tired old eyes, or are the LED lights used on emergency vehicles now days TOO BRIGHT? At night, you come up on a wreck or road construction, and there sits two or three cops with their lights going, and I'm totally blinded! I nearly bumped a Deputy standing in the road one night at a DUI check point because I couldn't see for being blinded by those bright LED lights.

Just wondered if anybody else had that problem....[S

Yep I have the same problem. Happened to me last night on the interstate. There was 6 cop cars for one slide off, couldn't see a thing for a 1/8 mile coming up on them. We had fresh snow on the ground that seamed to make it worse.

Yup, same here. Sometimes poor judgement on officer's actions add to it to. We had somebody off the road in the ditch on the road close to me one night and there were blue lights and red lights everywhere. Sometimes they don't consider what they do when they park their cars in the wrong direction to add lights on the accident. Oncoming drivers and everyone else come into danger then,,,

Why, I wonder, can't they have a day/night mode? (Seems simple to me.)

Another thing I find annoying.... LED advertising/billboards. A photo-eye could rectify that nonsense as well...

I agree with y'all. I ain't "old" by any means but I do have extremely sensitive eyes and the brighter the lights, the worse off at night I am. It's like when they first came out with the HID light bulbs, I actually went off the road once because I was blinded by a set of them. I couldn't imagine doing that and living still had it been snowy or icy.

I agree with you, the cop lights are tough at night. Also, these ricers retrofitted with the HID kits are a real PIA. It seems like they are always aimed up and to the left, maybe I'm just becoming a cranky old fart.

yes they are bright and use a lot less power then any other light out there. the hid lights that everybody has used in their shops are becoming a thing of the past. the cfls are taking over and then will be lost to the leds.

It's just waiting on somebody to come up with the idea.....right?

I guess so but you'd think the "educated" people who designed these devices would have a dim clue...

There should be an app for that... lefty loosy, righty tighty... unless it's a left thread. On second thought, never mind. "Ignorance can be cured but stupid is forever."

I detest CFLs. Maybe I'm just a blind, cranky old fart, but CFLs are useless... like lighting an airport with a box of candles. :D

There was a guy directing traffic, with all the lights I was halfway through the intersection before I ever saw him. You can see them when they have someone pulled over five miles up the road.LOL
