power rack ????????

can anyone tell me what it would do to pull or loop together a power rack and pinion and run it with out a pump or does it need a pump to work right. a friend has a nova with a power old style sterring box looped together and seems to work fine. can i do this with a rack and pinion.

I can't think it would make any diff... just no power assist but I've never done it either! I don't like power assist on R&P... too squirrelly!

Will work just fine. Do put a small amount of fluid in rack hose for lube.
