Hi, I also shared this thread in classicolds forum buut i didn't got any answeres :( So I'm gonna share it here again. I got a little problem with the upper beam lights from my 1952 Super 88. If I push the dimmer switch for upper beam, it only clicks and the red light in the speedo is flickering. Also the headlights are flickering, but nothing really happens. The car is equipped with the Autronic Eye and I also tried to cover "the eye" so that it thinks its dark but this is also not working...

Can anybody help me with my problem? Do I need another switch or do you think its just the relay?

And another question: can anybody tell me how this little bolt at the small triangle window on the front door is called?

Thanks,
Kai

Does this help?

For the head light problem. I would start with grounding the headlight plug to the car and not the wiring harness. Then I would try changing out the dimmer switch. If that does not work i would disconnect the light senser for the headlights.

Do you know if the switch for autronic eye headlights is different to the "normal" one?

i think i need an ophthalmologist

so, yesterday I checked the relay and the switch and both is working -.-
now it could only be the autronic eye...
it looks like the autronic eye always "thinks" its too bright and then it switches back to lower beam...

Has anybody some experiences with the reparation of autronic eyes?

I´d like to replace the Vacuum Tubes in the control box...
Does anybody of you know what Vacuum Tubes I´d need and where I can get them? In the repair manual are the part numbers from GM, but I don't find them anywhere...

Greetings
