yep im all out of arrows i have done a bit more welding on the cab soon i will weld the window frames on. im also saving up to buy a valve change over kit and some head gaskets to see if the old flattie will pop but i had one major blow to the project my buddy who use to work at the scrap yard quit so i will have a hard time finding cheap parts
i also have started a side project with my brother we are going to build a 73 lincoln derby car with a sbc i figured it would be a good way to practice my welding a little and possibly make some money i was going to start a build thread for it but i didnt know if you guys would like it or not
thanks for the reminder on my truck uncle snake farmer
did a little more work today. my girlfriends dad came down he seemed pretty impressed which makes me proud of my self because he used to be a HIGHLY respected auto body man if he would have wore a respirator he would still be doing it [cl
well i haven't touched the rat this week but i have been working on getting a little side money to buy a valve kit and headgaskets so far im up to $95 and i threw in a couple hours over time tonight. this weekend i plan on retrieving some some copper wire ill update my work on that project
and i promise to start using my camera to take pictures instead of my phone
got some welding done this weekend a little grinding too[
then i etched my back window my first time trying it. i think it turn out okay. im thinking i might etch some skulls in corners and ratrodsrule.com somewhere
since i had the camera out i figured i might as well snap some pics of my grandpa's cars
ground the seats tonight i used my bosses seat grinder from 1940 something it worked great other than i had to let it cool after every seat i ground and i had let some of the factory smoke out of it lol then i realized i could just use a drill with a bolt on it the spin the disc thingy
heres pics
i also have this crazy idea about not painting the engine once i get it runing just cleaning the grease off and tossing on some chrome acorn nuts on the heads. i also have a plan about building a 2x2 high rise intake
well got the valves, got them installed. got headgaskets got them intalled and torqued down. slaped the intake and distributor but still wont fire on either so i pulled the cap looks like only one set of points is working so tomarow i will ajust the other set and see what happens wish me luck
on the plus side it seems to have compresion now i didnt put a gauge on it but it will blow my finger off the hole now also the oil pump still works
well i was hoping to post a clip of the old flatie purring but like an idot i broke the distributor shaft so i tryed to weld the ear back on and it didnt work out so well
luckly i saved my other dizzy so pulled the shaft out of it but there is a tab rusted to it so its getting a coke bath as we speak i hope it works
thanks for the compliments sam and the support i need it right now im really tempted to sell this flathead and put my 460 in it
