I sort of do????...I deal mainly in cash. have a credit card for ordering stuff online, but that gets paid off at the end of each week, so don't think that counts.

*Edit* it should be noted though, I don't actually own a house...I rent a basement suite when I'm in town off of a family member and when I travel it's either hotels, other tattooers houses, or in the bus.

Ive got a plan, check back in about five years.lol House, land and rental property will be clear.

That's me!

;) Course with my house payment I can't afford any of that other stuff. I built my house in 1979 and it has been through a couple remodels.......funny thing is one of them (a major one) cost three times what it cost me to build it in 1979  Plus side is, it doesn't look like a 33 year old house. :) Down side is, my Willys DOES look like a 30 year project.

1 truck payment left at the end of this month[cl and 7 years left on the garage with the house attached

House payment and a Freightliner truck payment, all the personal vehicles and toys I own free and clear. Thinking about getting rid of my pickup and the wifes Jeep Cherokee and just getting a Super Crew cab pickup, but decided to wait until after the election to see if we still have a country and a job! [ddd

only the house and one credit card. The card I use for my business. all else is paid for. It was the only way I could afford a 48% cut in pay to do my new day job![cl

It sounds like we are generally a bit more wise with our money than the general populace. I lost everything, house, truck, all credit down the toilet from a bad decision to get involved in the Katrina cleanup. Long story. I jokingly say that I was probably the furthermost person north to loose their house to Katrina.
In the long run it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I now have an arrangement as a maintenance man for my rent and utilities. My only bill is my phones, cable tv and internet. I have actually invested and accumulated more in the last 5 years than ever and often live on only a couple hundred dollars a week. I do have windfalls and just in last year was able to pay for my daughter's braces with cash, buy a couple new guns, A 2000 Power Stroke dually, a 97 Aerostar and have the money to assemble the rod. And the stress free living is probably the best part.

Just now getting a lower interest loan on the house. Still owe about a third of its present value. No other interest/time payments.

Used to pay by check for everything. Now I charge everything and pay in full the first of the month. Only one check that way.

However, I do not charge when buying from people I know or from small businesses. I pay cash and tell them I don't need a receipt. How they handle the money on their end is their business.

I know a couple that pay for everything with a certain credit card and always pay off the balance every month. It accumulates Alaska Airlines miles and once a year they have enough miles to fly first class to Mexico or Hawaii.
