It's fiberglass. I didn't want to get into a big bodywork project with a rusty old body. I know everybody looks down on fiberglass bodies, but I really didn't care. This body has two opening doors. Too old to have to climb in. It is also 3" wider than stock. This was important to me to allow more foot room around the brake and gas pedal.

Nice build, old racer to another nothing like the drop of the green flag still race here my kick is fabrication love this stuff wished I could make a living being in the shop building ratrod / hotrod , but at the end of the day construction is my thing.

Thanks rboutlawmotorsports. Yeah, I love metal fab also. I would fabricate all day for pay, then go home and do it all evening for fun. Those race cars always needed something welded or fabbed. Now that I am retired, I spend about 16 hours a day in the shop.

Thanks Colorodders. Get started on your project. The only way to finish it is to get started. I would be glad to help with any questions. Roadsters are a blast, but I have to keep telling my wife, If your gonna drive a roadster, you gotta be tough!

I still don't know how you built this thing in my back yard without me knowing about it lol. It's a small world.

Hopefully I will catch up with ya at a show this year and I can check it out in person.

That is FAR too pretty to be a rat rod!:D

How about "T" Of The Apocalypse?;) That car looks sturdy and tough enough to slaughter zombies with!:D

Seriously, LOVE all the racing parts and flavour used in your build-especially those twin-hoop rollbars.

Thanks for taking the time to share your build with us.

Regards,
Shea:)

Thanks, RickyBobby. 21willys, I am sure we will run across each other somewhere. I often get around Summitville on a warm summer night cruise. I go for a cruise most every night. You ought to check out the cruise in at Burger King by Meiers in south Marion every Tuesday night during the summer. They get 25-50 cars. I imagine they will do the same thing this year.

Tom Howard told me about the cruise but I never made it. Working out of town sucks. Hopefully I'll make it this year some time.

LOL, We even have friends in common. Tom is building a new house right next door to my farm, a half mile down the road from my house. I helped him set trusses last week.

Thx Oldracer!

I'm sure I'll have some questions.

Awesome build. The wide 5's add a lot of eyeappeal to your car. [cl

Thanks riverrat44. Yeah I really like the look of the wide 5's, but they caused a lot of problems getting them on the car. I had to modify and merge 2 sets of spindles (latemodel spindles and '49 Chevy spindles) to be able to mount them on a straight axle. Nobody makes spindles to mount those wide 5's on a straight axle. Then I had to design and fabricate the brake caliper brackets. It was quite a pain.

Is that the lot where the abondon trailer sat? If so I'm the one who tore it down.

That place was a mess but she didn't want to pay to clean it up.
