well i wanted to find out how many have blasted down the dragstrip with their rats.... not a challenge for fighting or "bs" just a time that you made and whether you thought there was more in your car/truck....and post up a pic of "proof"[ddev. if ya have it...

i'll go first... my 46 ford truck with a mild 350 chevy ran a 9.058 1/8th mile yesterday in 70-80 degree weather... this is with 3.08 gears and a slightly too tight converter... the motor hits its "sweet spot" down the track a good bit, so i think with 3.42 gears and a 2400 stall converter i could hit 8.50's....maybe optimistic though

the blue 66 ford in these pics belongs to my younger brother the "mechanic" of the family... he has a 460 with 429 D0VE heads a good cam, a rpm airgap intake, 850 dp holley, 3.25 gears.... he ran a best of 8.42 and we both drove 'em to the track and home again about 80 miles round trip...:cool:

A pic.....heck I've got video man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFgtfXloTVE&feature=related .....turning high 30's now:D Course there was no official timing equipment ya understand:eek:

Would love to run my Willys on the strip but the closest one to me is more than a 220 mile round trip:( There is one being built as we speak that is 10 miles down the road from me so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it gets finished next spring [cl[cl

In 2009 I was able to make part of the 209 Power Tour, including the last stop at Bristol. Here's a video of the car there; the Mustang driver wasn't too pleased. Pontiac vs. Mustang at Bristol.. I guess this other Mustang driver wasn't either - at 0:42 in the video. Car ran 14.10s with street tires. It has gone a best of 12.99.

The Power Tour was a lot of fun, especially meeting people.

Every car I've got has been down the track at some time or another...including my wife's new Escalade. It ran a respectable 14.8 or something like that. Not bad for a big old square box. We drove 2 cars 8 hours to Gilliam, La (Thunder Raceway) last weekend. Raced, won a trophy (3rd place), spent the night and drove 8 hours home. You might say, I really, really like racing!
