Those who use aluminium radiators, how are you mounting them?

I see Speedway sells what looks like brackets that go under the rad. I'm concerned about road gravel getting in and wearing through.

I have mounted several, I use a square tube, or channel on the bottom to support the radiator, and bracket the top to be a removable piece that is similar to the bottom. I use strips of rubber between the metal, and the radiator. Also check out the pictures on the one I am building now for a new idea, that works well.

I appreciate the advice.... But you have over 11000 posts:eek:

Can you give a link to your latest radiator idea?

Thanks in advance

Radiators with the tanks on top and bottoms;
If the core support mount bolts through the side of the core support, I use a length of 1 1/2"x 1 1/2x1/8 aluminum angle with one side cut off the angle to fill the gap then, weld one to each side of the radiator and bolt it to the core support.

If the core support mount bolts to the face of the core support, I use a piece of 1/8" flat aluminum welded to the side of the radiator and bolted the core support

On the horizontal core you have to build a saddle for the radiator to sit on then make brackets on top that bolt on like Bonehead mentioned.

Don't over think it, two up rights in front of the radiator with a removable " bolted" U "padded" over the top of the radiator and a section of frame rail to hold the bottom "padded".. I over thought mine until someone I know pointed out the easiest ... [S
