WhyWorry, you questioned the steering on this car so it got me worrying too. I at first thought that the sandbags were there to hide the fact that he'd forgotten to put a steering box in, but, here's a possible answer. That rod that goes alongside the motor, the one with the U-joint in it and the steady bearing, -----well it isn't the steering column like I thought, it's a draglink, and the steering box is under the dash. The setup is like a cowl steering/draglink combination, only the steering shaft doesn't come out through the side of the cowl. The pitman arm must swing back and forth amonst the pedals and drive the draglink from inside the car.
