Has anybody hung the rearend out past the frame like the front axle? I'm using my banjo rear end and want it to be a focal point in the rear so hanging it out past the frame would be cool. Possible?[S:confused:

Any pictures of something like that?

???

sounds like an interesting idea[;)

l guess with enough money or time it could be made to work[S

never seen one though, good luck.

l'd like to see it done, maybe a cool new trend:D

Later:cool:

Been done a lot. Nacho Gonzalez' '35 Ford is a good example and some top notch fab. Here ya go...

Nice ride, I seen that before but never noticed that the rearend was out past the frame.

I want to use a short bed and don't wouldn't want to hide all that nice fab work.

I was thinking more on the line of running the springs inside the frame half way and sticking straight out like they do on some of the front ends.

He's indicating that he's No. 1 ..:D

I was sitting looking at my '40 banjo rear last night thinking about suicide rear for some reason. Had a quick thought, the rear tubes could be swapped side for side and have the spring perches sticking out the front of the axle instead of behind. Would make for a very easy suspension set up. The only thing I see being a possible issue would be how to run the links to hold the rear axle, although I am sure some type of ladder bar, or even modified stock bones could be made to fit in and around the spring. But that would be a tranvserse spring.

By your description of what you are looking for, sounds more like 1/4 eliptical is what your after.

Not a great picture, but you can kind of see it...
