[RRR Mod]

Good news guys! I talked to Bob at Rebel Wire and he is going to give RRR members a 10% discount on wiring harnesses etc. First off I wanted to say I used a Rebel Wire kit & called him many times during my build and he was nearly always available & when he wasn't he returned my call shortly. I was impressed with the kit I bought (9+3) which used larger wires than most kits and the writing on each wire was larger that any I have seen & believe me... these old eyeballs really appreciated it! I also wanted to make sure he was good people B4 I recommended him to you & I didn't say anything about RRR until the end of my experience. I get nothing from him but a good deal for you guys!

Well... I ordered my wiring harness from Rebel Wire today! They are my fav by far. They have good instructions, excellent wire & I can actually read the writing on the wires without my glasses or a magnifying glass! They're always available to help & have the best tech guy IMO! Not ready to do the wiring yet but that is just around the corner! Can't wait to fire the Beast up again!!!

I've used 2 and have 3 in the shop. They were so inexpensive and easy to use I bought extra. One will go in the Studebaker and one for the Model A pickup.

Tripper, I've wired cars from scratch all my life and decided to try an aftermarket/hot rod wiring setup when I redid my 27. It really does make it easier.

I am getting closer to the point where I have to wire my 29, but I have boxes and boxes of wire and components (I work in the marine industry) so I probably will use those instead. But, if I didn't have those, I would definitely by a kit, like you have.

I figure, this is probably my last car project, so I better use up what I have or my sons will be inheriting all of it.

Don, I've seen some of the ones you've made... beautiful work. I'm not a wiring wizard but have been able to use Rebel Wire harnesses successfully & if I run into trouble... Bob & Jeremy always bail me out!. Can't wait to fire the big boy up!!!

I agree with you that a really nice feature is the purpose of each wire being printed on them. If you ever have to go back and trace a problem, you aren't looking at a bunch of spaghetti and wondering where each wire goes.

When I wired my 46 I used a Painless kit. I learned a lot, and while I'm not sure what company I would go with I know I wouldn't wire a car without a kit again. I think every kit has its pros and cons, but the troubleshooting and time saved by spending a little money on a kit is well worth it.

I've done the old one wire at a time process and I'm sold on the aftermarket wire harnesses.
