here are a couple more pics, got the air tank mount made and tacked in, also got the radiator and grill shell mounted, and fuel tank straps made, but no pics of that till tomorrow, left my camera at home today

I like the 30 31 visor Used it on the last couple I did but is funny nobody ever comments on it.
 
worked on getting the steering box in today, bent up some tube to support it all. i will let the pics do the speaking

You can certainly tell you've been around the block a few times... easy to see who the pro's are....great welds, nice work....Lord I wish I had half those skills....:eek:
 
continued working under the cowl and dash today, made up a battery box for an optima red top. box is 14 gauge sheet, drilled and dimpled, with 1.5 tube for the mounts. the battery will be set on it side with the terminals facing the passenger side of the car.

What do you use for a support bearing or bushing where the sector shaft runs through the cowl?

Car looks great BTW.
 
worked on the steering on this one for most of the day, took the steering box apart. lengthened the the out put shaft. then added a splined section. made a pitman arm, and cut down a new speedway column. going to get all the links done tomorrow and see how it works,

The fab work is awesome as usual but I don't think those shoes are Osha approved for metal work!:D
 
Those look like they might be steel toed? :D

I have heard that if you treat and age canvas it will become bullet proof. Maybe Cornfield is really a secret CIA lab![;)

Is the steering box just a vega box turned sideways? Looks more like a corvair box but I could be wrong.
