I have been thru it two or three times in a semi and didn't see anything nice but this opened my eyes. An American city to go down that hard I look around at all the empty stores and homes here and wonder.
Although just now thinking about it, is it much different in any major way other than the numbers and scale, from what happened here in the west with the mining towns?

Probably not much difference! Things change for a reason and it seems as though Detroit had it's run and now it's time for something else to take it's place. Still sad though that a city can be as vibrant as it was and change completely in such a short period of time!..CR
Most cities have areas that died like that, but thing about Detroit is it was really the whole city and it happened on such a grand scale. I gotta watch the rest of that series - interesting.
