RIP John O'Quinn!!!

Ok... u may not know the name but the Houston attorney was a monster mover & shaker in the collector car world. He won major lawsuits against big tobacco, breast implants & pen-phen drug maker Wyeth Labs & was consequently a $$$Billionaire!!! He started collecting everything in sight & had a HUGE collection of Duesy's. His favorites were story cars... like Duesy's owned by famous movies stars, JFK's '62 Lincoln Continental, the Ford Escort owned by Pope John Paul II, etc. He also had a great sense of humor... at the Houston Autorama a couple of years back they featured about 10-12 of his cars with unbelievable Duesy's & other multi-million dollar cars & then on the end was a RAT ROD... I am not kidding!!! He had a stupid Rat Rod that was probably worth $15K-20K that had tiki seats from Pier 1... I laughed until I nearly died! A stupid Rat Rod in with all those fab cars! Last Thursday he was driving on a really slick twisty tree-lined road near downtown H-town... skidded off the road & hit a tree at speed. My favorite car he bought was a 1938 Talbot-Lago, he paid $3,350,000 because he & his girlfriend just thought the car was beautiful... I have to agree!!! See attached!!!
