trunk lid ..........

k guys and gals .

have had to build mrs crate a 3 speed compost bin recently, and with spring now hitting there has been some other time wasting projects...

however I got up today broke out the tools , and got stuck in ..[

trunk lid is ready to fit - once I ve got the rest of the body done - using a mid 1970's mini roof ,

pictures the rusty lid is some pics of Ebay, (cost prohibitive to ship out) ,, and a couple of measurements of a '25 coupe is all I had to go with .. feeling a bit pleased with myself

up the right way at last

got enough steel welded in the lower rust repairs to flip her upright again..

ran out of satin-rattle-can-black.. found some old silver

next bit on to the roof chop while I spent some nights working out the dimension's for the tub

got a bit more time in today.. ready to weld in ......

the down arrows on the 'A' pillars is the chop line -- it represents a 5'' chop..
while its not a big chop .. im working on reshaping a late 20's mopar sun visor thingy,, that will alter the depth a bit ..

the stock dash is quite rusted, and bondo'd up .. quite like its quaint style..

but tricked myself into doing something with this 30' Essex dash a used Cat filter, and some sheet... ..

rebuilt a couple of dash mounts and the inside at the bottom of the screen

and the visor just needs a little finishing round the top ..

bit of a teaser

plan is .. french the speedo 1/2'' inch but the cat filter surround should be 1/4'' above surrounding dash . the speedo will just poke the reversed filter

got the top fitted together, a bit of matt black for clarity - still needs some work , and the lower section done..

need to run a cross beam behind the dash for steering column support

.. ok so ive been a bit lazy lately.. today though a buddy posted some pics on faceplant of himself painting his studebaker frame..

'ratburgers!! " -- that does it ,( I thought ), got going with some frame modification.. not too extreme I reckon 3 1/2 inch rear kick up .. still got to do various mounts finally boxing ...

next job will be rolling or pressing a curve in to the 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 box section.. might just whizz over to the mechanics area where I know there is a press this week then welding together to locate the body , motor-trans etc ..

oh yeah this mod has added around 5'' frame length - needed
