What....2 lifts? Just messin' with ya OI... love the shop, but I
think we need more shot's ;) maybe couple more inside and
an outside shot.....[P[P I think it's great your son wants to
work along side of you...

Awesome shop OI, wish I had a hoist. I tried LED lights in the house and our power grid is so dirty they blink constantly causing a headache. They do give a great light though.

Great looking shop indeed OI.[cl
I wouldn't know how to act in a shop that well equipped.[ddd
We should call this the "Do you suffer from shop envy" Thread..... :D
And if Smallfoots is a cellar. Mine is truly a cave. Or perhaps more like a mine shaft.;)

I'll give you a garage tour of my place. Not a real shop, just a fairly big garage. The walls are 1 foot thick Styrofoam with a concrete and rebar core. It is pretty warm in the winter.

The left door opens to a short space, just big enough to park the Renault.
The middle is kept open for Mama to park her minivan. Although sometimes it get invaded with work but is soon restored to a parking space.
The middle and right doors open to an extra deep space. I can build a car crossways in the back.
Against the left wall is a drill press and belt sander.
Along the back wall is a welding table with a 5/8" thick steel top. And next to it is a bench grinder. I bought the vice 57 years ago.
To the left is a long cabinet which is supposed to be a workbench but just holds things inside and on top.
The wooden doors hide mainly short pieces of steel sorted by size and shape. Underneath is where the long steel is kept. A compressor is surrounded by about a dozen small block Chevy blocks and assorted engine parts. A Lincoln MIG welder and a oxy-acetylene torch are in the far corner under an overhead furnace.
There is a pull down ladder that accesses an attic. You wouldn't feel safe underneath if you knew how much tonnage is up there.
Nothing too fancy because I don't do complicated fabrication. However, I feel very fortunate to have this set up.

Shop

I started working on cars outside. Then got a 1920's Model A garage with dirt floors, leaking roof. Was thrilled to have it. My shop is 60 years old, started out as a farm tractor shed. Best part is the privacy. Noise is no problem. Will need a roof soon.

You guy's shops look great.
It wasn't that long ago I was also working outside.
26 years ago, my first shop was a 20x30 converted chicken coop with 6 and a half foot ceiling. I was tickled to have it.

Old Iron your first shop sounded pretty good. I started out with a 16 ft X 24 ft converted chicken coup and now have a 30 X 30 shop with 12 ft ceiling. A lot smaller than some but it's big to me.

Been working outside for many yrs... My forge / smithy (? ) was not a good place for a car or anything living and I never had the funds to change anything about that. Just a few yrs ago I was over the moon with a 25x11' carport. Started resto on the Cuda. After a while walls started to grow and wind stayed outside. It was a nice shop but way small. Then I moved to this old farm house where I live now. 33 x 43ft. New floor went in ,it`s dry, it has soul and I like working there. I like to keep the place tidy where I can. I hate searching for tools and it keeps the risk of fire low.

Love the tile idea. I work at Lowe's in flooring and we often have clearance tiles. Might be a good time to start looking for some. I have a 12 x 16 prefab mini barn. The wood floor does get kinda iffy and the tile would be much easier to clean. Jim
