a rolling chassis complete, don't know year on when came being, trying to get a baseline on this chassis what years it was built, and whether the chassis would be worth getting, if it could stand being used under a t model 2 door have the body have the engine and trans,be like s 10 rolling chassis i think this is pre dakota. small like s 10 chev . is it worth it ? just have to go pick it up. what do you think members of RRR? thanks robertbandit

i didnt even see that part - i just saw frame - and all i have to do is pick it up.

probably wouldnt work so well under a model t -

early ram frame?

it seems to me nobody is liking the idea ram chassis und 27 2 door ford. so noted. early ram chassis ( rolling front end rear endwheels and tires not a marketable idea, just wanted to get the imput. i got it . thanks allof you i appericate the opinions. plan ( b) is now in the works thank you robertbandit.

I've used the Dodge D-50 whole roller or just the frame on a number of projects. As far as the whole factory chasis goes its got a few points better than an S10, but still just a modern mini truck lay out. I'm using one on my Speedster build with fenders.

As far as just the frame rails with the suspension cut off--I'd rather use it or pieces of it over a regular square tube fabbed frame--It's got some bends/tapers and kick ups that I like--also I am a fan of JY stuff over store bought so its a natural for me..

Heres a few pics of D-50 frames I've built on. Note the Grand Kid pic were the T Sedan cowl is fit over the D-50 frame just before it kicks up. Thats a straight axle T with just a D-50 frame. The taper and kick fit the 26 T like it was ment to be. That piece alone is worth using in a T project. Got more frame picks on the home computer--lemme know if ya want to see them.

D 50 frame

Do you happen to know what years the d 50 or the ram was built? Yes i would like to see what you did with rolling chassis, the good things about and the bad about like i said he told me i could have the chassis it has alloy wheels on good rubber. Let me know , thank you robertbandit.

The D-50s I have used are early to mid 80s. They are Mitsubichy PUs.

The Suspensions are pretty standard, discs up front, drum back, the rear axles look like a copy of a Ford 9"--beefy axles. The standard transmission rear axle runs a 3.9/1 the Automatic runs a 3.55/1.

Using the frame stock is sound if you are looking for a quick, inexpensive, driver, but the 'style' takes a hit.

I'd recomend them for a full fendered ride, or if the builder didn't have enough tools, shop time, or money. I've built 3 drivers using the stock frame and suspensions, but have sold them or taken them apart and used the pieces on different builds where the independent suspension is covered.

Heres a few examples of the D-50 frames and a couple cars I've used them on.
