How about this comeback: " I've been taking donations toward the paint job and most people are kicking in between $ 20 and $50. How much can I put you down for ?" Bet they stop asking pretty fast after that.

I got asked that so many time and was tired of it and I was ready to do something so went from rust to black, no sanding or primer just Rust-O-Lem
flat black.
