Trip, I don't think ya gots ta worry too much unless yer PC is in outer space. Solar flares can cause probs for satellites and stuff not as shielded by the Earths magnetic field. It will cause connectivity problems for cellphone, gps, sat. TV, etc.

I'd even wonder about FBW airplanes?

As I understand it, the Sun has been abnormally quiet, solar flare wise, for the last several years.
