Anybody know the solenoid amp draw for a Chevy v-6 mini starter???

I have a B-29 Friend/Foe switch panel. I want to use one switch for the on off switch and the keying button for the starter button. The amp draw would determine if the button and toggle will handle the job or if I need to install a relay.

I have been told by people who wire cars/boats for a living to always use a relay

I would also put a relay in. That way you will be covered as far as the draw goes.

Chevy didn't use a relay, wire is what-18 guage? I'm going to guess less than 10 amps. They would have surely used a relay if it was any more than that.
