i think most all kinds of sanctioned racing is a gas. bonehead you gotta have a blast doing that. the cleanup afterward has gotta be a bummer though. ive also roundy round raced on and off over the years. the last time was 2 years ago. i love it and seem to be pretty good at it. however its expensive even in the very low street stock classes. just the cost of tires can be crazy if you want to be competitive. i even love the swamp buggy races. thats gotta be a blast going through the sippy hole! if money was no object i'd race around in circles. another type of competition that intrigues me is rock climbing. i was going to build a rock buggy but someone bought my foundation from me before i could build it. it was a 1 ton chevy 4x4 truck with alot of good aftermarket parts that i got with a blown motor. one form of racing i dont care for is drag boats. it just seems too dangerous to me. my bud years ago had a supercharged olds powered 17 foot boat. i took one ride in it, that was enough for me, and he only hit 70mph. another friend raced in a 4 cyl hydroplane class. he topped 100mph in his boat. going over 200 in a small boat is just nuts imho. i raced dirt bikes way back when as well. back in the days when bikes had 3 inches of travel, sheeeesh. my last race bike was a bultaco 360. when i got a bike with 12 inches of travel it was like a dream. i got a new kx400 kawasaki uni track in 79 if i remember right. but i'd already quit racing by then on bikes. i also tried my hand at trials bikes too, but i just wasnt nimble enough. through it all, ive drag raced almost every summer. and all year when i lived in north carolina. and it looks as though i'll continue racing until i'm no longer physically able. hopefully thats still a long way off. i still wanna trailer alot more opponents!
