Im running a Turbo 400 in my truck. I havent decided on a speedometer yet, but i have a few in mind. One is out of a '60s International Scout, but it only goes to 100mph. Another is from a '50 Chevy car, also only goes to 100mph. And yet another one i found is in a '46 Caddy, that goes up to 110mph. I know i will most likely never go that fast, but i like the looks of a high mph speedometer. That way i can say something like "this engine should make the car go about 700mph" lol

Are speedo. cables pretty much universal? Will they read correctly with the TH400? I hope they do, because i want to putt the dash out of the '50 chevy in my truck.

The industry standard seems to be 1000 RPM cable speed at 60 MPH. Just about all heads will work in just about any application.

Depending on the rear gears and tire height you may or may not have to change the gear in the transmission. Any transmission shop can help you. Just provide them with the info and they will get you the right gear.

I've seen aftermarket ATV / bike electronic speedos on rods that work well for real reasonable-- Like $100 for the whole kit. Sensors wires digital readout.

Ebay sells em.. They sure look easy, and have a bunch of info and adjustability.

PA41, Im running a digital guage cluster in my jeep. All of the guages are electronic, and your right its a piece of cake to install. I bought it through Nordscog, they make many "stock" application kits.

Problem is thats definatly not the route i want to take with my truck. Im not a traditionalist, but i really dont like using brand new parts if i dont have to. I think the looks of brand new guages would clash with all the rust. :D

Yeah-it'd be hard to make that fit a rat.. I just had impulse bid on one when I posted, and am kinda relieved someone out bid me:p..

The jeep does look good though, and I'm all about easy.

I Might still find one and try to hide it in plain site, like a little one in an old tach housing or something..

Didn't mean to get off track.. I tend to drift:rolleyes:.
