steering box change ???

I have a project with a gm front clip with the power steering box. need to change steering to manual. now the question part can one just change to a gm manual box or do i have a bigger problem. well i hope someone can help thxs guys[cl

It would help if we had more details, like what year and model "GM front clip" you are using =)

thxs I dont know will have to pull the steering box to get a parts number its has disc brake so i could also check the calipers

I have a '68 Camaro clip in my '53 and I switched it from power to manual. Since both boxes were offered in the Camaro that year it was pretty simple. As DR pointed out, we need to know more about what you have...

i plulled the gear box and i found this no.5691676 i have learned the unit is saginaw. i needto know there is manual gear bow i could swap thxs

I believe I found what box you have, and there are about 1000 vehicles that came with that box.

Under compatibility there is a list of all the vehicles it came in, probably have to research which ones came with manual steering and power in the same car...
