So the other morning I woke up to get ready for work. I leave for work at 5:00AM. I walked out side and the tailgate was down on my truck. I went to flip it up and the security light came on. I noticed that some a$$hole stole the taillights off the back of my truck!!!

So much for saying people will steel anything that isn't bolted down!!

Whats the world coming to when the lights on your truck aren't safe?

Forgive me but you've really got to be a world class chicken**** to steal anything off another guys car but especially his damn tail lights! Where I'm from they shoot people for doing this kind of stuff!

Shoot someone for stealing taillights??? Too many guns, not enough brains.

I know a guy who has a Porsche and one night he went to Hooters for dinner, came out and found someone had stolen both headlight assemblies out of the car, right in the parking lot ! Evidently, some of the ricer crowd adapts them to their cars. I think the tab was something like $ 2500 per light.

Thieves are bold as hell. Years ago my Son Dan had a Cal Look VW with lots of expensive stuff on it. One night he came home at 1:30 from playing and when my then wife was leaving for work at 5 AM she saw the door of his car open. We all ran out and they had bypassed his very sensitive alarm and had systematically stripped the entire stereo system out (about $ 5,000 worth). They even had his Ricarro bucket seats unbolted and ready to steal, but she must have scared them off.

They didn't just yank the stuff out, they actually unscrewed each wire from the terminal blocks and took the stuff intact. The bad part was, I tracked down who they were (don't ask how) but they had just moved to Cookesville Tennessee. I contacted the sheriff there and he confirmed they were at the address I had, all he needed was a warrant. But our local States Attorney office said it wasn't worth pursuing.

That is why thieves aren't afraid to do what they do.

That sucks man  It don't get much lower than a theif

Recently in our little town where seldom anything like this happens, someone stole the drivers door off a late model Nissan pickup while it was parked on the street in front of the owners house

I ask this, "Is a set of tail lights or anything worth my life"? If you take it upon yourself to steal from someone then you are risking "your" life. not the other way around!

The other week someone try sealing the taillight out of my brother 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse. He open the trunk and found both both rear panel laying in on the floor of the trunk and some of the nuts were lose to the tail lights.

We are still trying to figure out how they got in a locked trunk.

shooting then is a little to mush. But sneaking up on them a giving them an attitude adjustment would work.

let me catch someone stealing something in my yard and you better hope i don't shoot, it is mine and i will protect it.

Here in Tejas we have a natural aversion to thieves & there have been several instances recently in H-town where people lost their lives stealing TV's & stuff off of people's cars or breaking into someone's home. Some moron even broke into a cops house while he was shaving... he is no longer with us!!! You definitely take your life in your hands if you steal from others here because people make no apologies for defending what's theirs!!! :D

I agree! People shouldnt have to "donate" to thieves because they want to be lazy low lifes. I will protect what ive "worked" hard for, so if you think my stuff is worth your life then, help yourself.

If he would have drove off with out realizing it, he might well have been in a serious accident. It's like loosening someones lug nuts. I would take it as a indirect attempt on my life.

Stealing a TV or radio out of my vehicle, just an annoyance.

Stealing a TV or radio out of my house, that's home invasion and therefore a threat to my families safety.

Guy here had his work truck broken into several times, his wheels & tires stolen & several thousands of $$$ of his work tools stolen twice. Guy comes to steal his tools a couple months ago & wound up 6' under.

up here we can't shoot for property crimes. But if they take a step towards you and you fear for your life.....

Been there

Was away for the forth when a guy from work calls and and tells me there is a fire truck at my house. Drive 1.5 hrs to get there to find it was robbed the 3rd and burned the 4th the guys were caught with photos of stolen stuff while on probation they were found guilty and put on probation again! Wtf used to believe in bean bag guns now I,d pop a 14yr old kid if I caught him breaking. It sets an example for the rest of the thieves. People don't learn from slaps on the wrist! Blow some ones head off or hang them in the yard and then call 911
