Yes, my suggestion is to ship it to me as it seems to be tooooooooo far gone to save her! Just messin! Good looking start. I think I would concentate on just getting it runable and drive the stuffin out of it![cl..CR
cool place to start....
as far as suggestions go, i really like cool old engines-(like that caddy i believe it is?) but to get it goin quick & cheap i might suggest a later model donor car or truck motor/trans and save the old engine for later...
body looks ready to drive-just a little glass, and go....were you goin fenders or fenderless?
do you have a bed/rear fenders?? the bed is easy enuf to build, but fenders are hard to find for that yr. model, but the 48-52 fenders are usable and don't look all that bad on 'em...love the chevy coil spring/track-arm rear axle set-up...probably would ride pretty good
Thing is--thats a 200 MPH car with a 50 MPH engine. Flatties are stacked lawnmower motors. Just cause its old don't mean it's desireable--look at me--prime example !
I'm a real fan of modern drivetrains/suspensions in old styled cars.. IMO That car would be a fine driver with a Ford Mod motor and disc breaks..
O-course -- it ain't mine..
Cool lookin ride--anyone would be glad to have it any way you lay it up.
Don't listen to PA, what does he know! My flathead banger never sees 50 mph and i still get where i want to go (around town). That flat Cad will give you a lot of enjoyment if you can make it happen.(vertical pipes too) And about that low as possible fad, isn't it time for some originality?
Heck yeah, keep the engine and run it .The new modern stuff would just defeat the purpose of having something old ,would be like building a 27 T-bucket and throwing a 4cylinder Toyota in it,then put hood and sides on it to cover up the engine.
