Hey Skull

I am loving this build of yours...I am seeing a lot of older out of date Modified stock car frames in my neck (some are pretty cheap too)...I am really enjoying your build...you keep me thinking about future projects that I can do..

Keep on diggin on it...cant wait to see it with numbers on the doors...

stuff

got the seat figured out and l had to heat and pry up the mount for the steering shaft so the steering wheel is now 3" higher which gives me a lot more room and now the wheel doesn't hit my legs. it's removable and that makes getting in/out a lot easier.

hood pins are in, now on to the hinge mount soon.

AND a little more cage painting to get rid of that ugly freakin' green.

doors

today is just more painting the cage and things to get rid of the green to improve the overall product, little thing in the big scheme of life but it will make the finished product look SOOOOOOOOOO much better.

the longest part of the door when all done with them ended up at 57 inches, for those who are wondering about those big whoopin' doors[;)

still going slower than l want, but l guess any progress is good.

Do you have the rear fenders? Kinda looks like it's tail is hanging out without something back there. Maybe just use the rear portion of them.

open

dads was totally fenderless and since l am basing the car off dad's original jalopy l probably will not trim the rear at all because that is the way he ran his when he raced in the day at a local 1/2 mile dirt track.

l am running the exhaust over the rearend and plan to have it exit somewhere in that opening to help fill it up.

also hoping the paint will help camouflage the big opening back there.

I gotcha. The pic you posted looks like it's tail was hanging out, too, so you are right on track. I'm more used to looking at street cars, never followed the roundy round guys too much.

stuff today

more wiring, the so called expert l had help me did more damage than good, taking forever to get it sorted back out and fixed.

the hood hinges and hood is operational, just like the expensive cars, tilt "front-end" & suicide doors.

still taking a lot longer to finish than l want, but still making progress.

Oh yeah, an 'expert" It's been my experience that when someone tells you they are an expert they are usually full of bullcrap. Looking good tho - love those big looong doors. [cl

thanks ZZ,

thing is ZZ, he did the wiring on both his 35 fords and it was a fantastic job, that is why l figured he could do a simple one and not mess it up, some people do great work for themselves and do a halfass job on everybody else's stuff when asked to help.
